About Gurmeet
I grew up in New York, went to Clemson for accounting, and came back. That's the short version. The longer one is that I spent years working in tax and accounting before deciding I wanted to do it on my own terms — which meant building something where clients actually understood what was happening with their money.
Most of my clients are business owners — contractors, restaurant operators, online sellers, healthcare practitioners, consultants. People who are good at what they do but didn't go into business to become tax experts. They need someone who can look at their numbers, tell them what's actually going on, and help them make decisions that don't blow up at tax time.
I started Meet GS Tax because I kept seeing the same thing: business owners paying too much in taxes, not because the law required it, but because nobody had sat down with them and done the planning. An S-corp election they never made. Deductions they didn't know existed. Quarterly payments they weren't making. These aren't complicated problems — they just require someone paying attention.
I also write the articles on this site. Not to rank on Google — though that helps — but because a lot of the questions I answer in consultations are the same questions, and it's more useful to have a clear explanation somewhere than to repeat it every time. If you've read something here and it made sense, that's the point.
If you want to talk through your situation, the contact page is the right place to start.
